It's a sad day, and reading the other posts here I'm almost tempted to change my mind and restore her myself... but I can't, I'm moving to Italy in a few weeks and won't have space for the Supersport currently sat at the back of my garage.

I've owned the car since 1992 and it's been stored in my garage since late 2000. It's currently SORNed so you'll need a trailer to collect it.

Because I need someone to take her away quickly, and as the main value to me is emotional rather than monetary (it was my first car) I'm offering it FREE to a good home.

1981 W-reg
167,000 miles
Colour: Sunburst red with red stripes
Interior: Grey, complete but showing its age

Modifications
Suspension: slightly lowered and uprated springs (approx 1" drop) with gas dampers
Brakes: XR2 vented discs, calipers and master cylinder
Engine: Fully reconditioned at ~100,000 miles, with Kent BCF2 fast road/rally cam; Vulcan Maxiflow lead-free head (enlarged inlet valve); high pressure oil pump; and Facet electric fuel pump

The car was completely waxoyled sometime before I got the car in 1992.

I haven't got any recent photos yet, I try to get some over the next couple of days. There's one from back in '93 or '94 from the XROC National Day at http://www.mcqn.net/mcfilter/archives/cars/free_to_a_good_home.html

Feel free to post any questions here, or email me at supersport@mcqn.net, or phone 07710 036866.

To be honest I'm not sure what would be needed for an MOT as I pretty much haven't touched it since putting into storage years ago.

Before I stored it it was in daily use - it was more that it was getting to the age where it would have started deteriorating otherwise and I'd just bought a house and so had somewhere I could keep it.

The engine ran last time I tried, but that was six years ago Smile

I'll see if I can get some pictures sometime over the weekend.

why does no one ever give me a supersport? im obssessed with the bloody things they have ended up costing me a fortune over the years.

if no2lurch falls through give me a shout because i now have a lot of space in a mates warehouse in which to keep supersports and a mountain of spare parts to rebuild them cheers jamie

Hehe. If I'd realised there was this much interest I'd have put it up on ebay.

It's good to see that there are still so many people interested in them. Must admit that I can easily see myself hunting for another in a few years when I've got some more time and space...

Don't worry no2lurch, you're still top of the list. Supersportmad I'll add you to the reserve list.

I've cleared some of the junk from round the Supersport and taken a few photos of how she's looking now.

Go to http://www.mcqn.net/PhotoAlbum/SupersportInStorage/ to see them.

(and sorry Supersportmad, it still looks like no2lurch is going to come and collect her Wink
